How to delete your data from RakshaLink.
RakshaLink is designed to keep most data on your device, not on our servers. Scam detection runs entirely on your phone using on-device ML — message content never leaves the device. That means uninstalling the app deletes the bulk of your RakshaLink data automatically.
A small amount of data is stored on our backend (Google Cloud, India region) to enable Family Protection and Pro subscription features. This page tells you exactly what's where, and how to delete it.
| Data | Where | How to delete |
|---|---|---|
| Scan history (which messages were flagged + risk level) | On device | Clear app data or uninstall |
| Spending transactions (auto-debits, subscriptions you track) | On device (SQLCipher-encrypted) | Clear app data or uninstall |
| App settings + preferences | On device | Clear app data or uninstall |
| Family group membership (group ID + your chosen display name) | Backend | Leave Family Group in-app (see Section A below) |
| Phone number (Family Pro coordinators only, with explicit consent) | Backend (AES-256 encrypted) | Delete in Settings → Family Protection (see Section B) |
| FCM push token (so the app can receive family alerts) | Backend | Uninstalling RakshaLink invalidates the token automatically |
| Pro subscription state (active / expired) | Backend | Cancel Pro in Google Play; we delete the record on next sync |
| Anonymous analytics (Firebase) — feature usage, crash reports | Backend (pseudonymous device ID, no PII) | Uninstall + reset Advertising ID in Android settings, or email us |
If you joined or created a family group, follow these steps to delete that data from our backend.
Tap the gear icon on the dashboard, then scroll to Family Protection.
You'll see a confirmation dialog explaining what gets deleted. Confirm to proceed.
Family Protection is fully opt-in. We never auto-enroll you. Leaving a family group does not affect scam detection on your own device — that continues to run on-device.
If you enrolled your phone number as a Family Pro coordinator (so family members can one-tap call you when they receive a scam alert), you can delete it independently of your family group membership.
Inside RakshaLink, scroll to Phone for emergency calls.
A confirmation dialog warns you that family members will no longer be able to one-tap call you. Confirm to proceed.
Uninstalling the app deletes nearly all RakshaLink data tied to your device:
Important: Uninstalling does not automatically delete your backend Family Protection data. If you've joined a family group or enrolled a phone, follow Section A and Section B first, then uninstall.
If you've already uninstalled without leaving the group, contact us (Section E below) with your Firebase Installation ID or the email used at signup — we'll delete the backend record manually within 7 business days.
If you have a Family Pro or Personal Pro subscription, cancellation is handled via Google Play (not in-app, per Google Play Billing rules).
On the same Google account you used to subscribe.
Find RakshaLink and tap Cancel subscription.
If you can't access the in-app flows (e.g., you've already uninstalled, or you're locked out for some reason), email us:
Use the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
We delete the requested data within 7 business days and email you a confirmation. We do not require you to send sensitive identifiers like Aadhaar, PAN, or full phone numbers.
The Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 gives you these rights, and RakshaLink supports each of them:
Our full Privacy Policy details what data we collect, why, and how it's protected.
| Data | Auto-deletes after |
|---|---|
| Family group membership | Retained for the life of the group. Deleted when you leave (Settings → Family Protection → Leave group) |
| Encrypted coordinator phone number | Deleted immediately when you leave your last group or transfer the coordinator role to another member |
| Family tip activity logs (rate-limit metadata, no content) | 24 hours |
| FCM push token | Invalidated when the app is uninstalled (handled by Android) |
| Scam alert metadata (category + timestamp, not content) | 30-minute per-category cooldown window; full audit record retained 14 days, then auto-deleted |
